The Linnaeus Garden is the place to find peace and silence in the middle of the busy town centre. The garden and the directors lodge are gems to all garden lovers as well as historians.
Due to an archeological excavation ther will be neither a museum shop or otudoor seating area in the garden this summer. There are many nice coffehouses and restaurants in the blocks surrounding the garden, though.
The orangery is the perfect venue for private or business events in a historic environment.

Café Carl von Linné across Svartbäcksgatan usually have tables in the Linnaeus Garden. As their customer you are welcome. Due to archeological excavations the seating area is closed 20222.

There are also several other out coffehouses and restaurants next to The Linnaeus garden. Most of them have tables outside the Garden.

The outdoor seating area is closed 2021 and 2022, due to archaeologic excavations.

Celebrate in a historic environment
The Orangery in the Linnaeus Garden may be hired for special occasions throughout the year. Weddings, disputation parties, birthdays and business events can all be held here.
During the 18th century, when Carl Linnaeus’ was director of the Garden, the building was used as an orangery.

Flowery gifts and Linnaeus' writings
In the museum shop of the Linnaeus Garden you will will find cards, posters and gifts with motifs from Olof Rudbeck’s and Carl Linnaeus’s days as well as works of contemporary Swedish botanical illustrators. We provide seeds, insect houses, and much more if you want to increase the biodiversity in your garden. In the Linnaeus Garden shop, we stock literature about Carl Linnaeus and his science.
The shop in the Linnaeus Garden is temporarily closed due to acheological excavations and rebuilding. From 2023 it will be open from May to September, during the normal opening hours of the Garden.
